Unclear What the new regulated-account check changes for HIPAA or ZDR accounts is not known.
Claude Code now has a check that answers yes when an account has a HIPAA setting (for handling health data) or a zero data retention (ZDR) setting. It sits next to an existing setting, controlled by Anthropic's server, about whether Claude Code waits for batches. That setting falls back to off when the server sends nothing.
The batch waiting setting was compiled off by default in v2.1.312. Anthropic's server has answered on for this site's own account since 2026-10-28, which says nothing about any other account.
It suggests that the batch behaviour is being made to depend on whether an account is regulated, such as HIPAA or ZDR accounts.
tengu_virtual_toast Off by default, switched on for this accountThe shipped code defaults this off, and the flag server returned on for the one account this site reads on this version. That is the reading that makes the entry above worth a second look, and it still says nothing about your account.
This account: on · anonymous baseline: on · compiled default in v2.1.314: off
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
Read once, for one account on one subscription tier, against v2.1.314. It isn't a statement about your account. What a flag value here can and cannot tell you
