What
After a successful request to the model, Claude Code sends Anthropic usage data about it. That data now includes:
how many images in the request are new, and their total size
how many images are being sent again from earlier in the conversation, and their total size
the type of conversation thread the request was sent in
Why
This changes only the usage data, not how Claude Code behaves. It shows how much the conversation's images cost when they are sent again with later requests.
