What

When you resume a session (pick up an earlier conversation where it left off), Claude Code removes messages that were withdrawn earlier. Before, it only looked for the list of withdrawn messages on one kind of system message, the one written when the model refused and Claude Code fell back. It now also reads that list from your messages and from Claude's replies.

It also copes with malformed entries in that list instead of failing on them.

Why

Content that was withdrawn stops coming back into the conversation when you resume it.
