What
Claude Code uses prompt caching, which lets the service reuse earlier parts of a conversation instead of processing them again. Caching instructions can carry a scope. Claude Code now leaves the scope out once a refusal has been recorded. Before, the scope was always included.
Why
This avoids request errors when the server does not accept a scoped cache.
