When Claude Code swaps the model for a while and then puts things back, it now restores the model that was in use just before the swap. Only if it has no record of that does it go back to the model the session started with. Before, it always went back to the starting model.
Why
If you changed models partway through a session, a temporary swap no longer undoes your choice.
