What
When a command has been blocked, Claude Code lists it so you can approve it. That list now handles these cases:
- A call with no readable description is labelled "Call with no description:" followed by what it is.
- A row whose input was withheld or not recorded shows "Input not shown" and the note "This row can't be approved here:" with the reason.
- Approving a row grants permission for this exact command only, not for the same command with extra options, a sandbox change or a run in the background.
- Control characters and invisible characters in a command are shown as escape codes such as
\uXXXX, so you can see them.
Before, a withheld command was shown cut short, with no refusal.
Why
You can no longer approve something you cannot see in full, and an approval no longer stretches to variations of the command you approved.
