When the environment variable CLAUDE_CODE_CONFIG_PROBE is set, Claude Code no longer adds a user message to the conversation on its own. It logs that it is dropping the message, because the process only answers requests from its host, the program that started it.
Why
This is a safeguard for programs that run Claude Code as a helper, and it is unlikely to affect ordinary use.
