Unclear Exactly which step is skipped when the variable is set is not settled.
What
Claude Code can remind itself of saved memory, notes it keeps between sessions. A new environment variable, CLAUDE_CODE_MEMORY_CONTEXT_NO_WAIT, changes this when Claude Code runs in its ccr mode. With it set, the reminder can go ahead without waiting for the usual memory check. Claude Code never sets this variable itself; you have to set it.
Why
It can stop the memory reminder from holding up a turn in ccr mode.
