What

The Bash tool is how Claude runs shell commands. Some commands run in the background while Claude keeps working. Under a new condition, the tool's instructions to the model now say not to check a background command over and over. If the model needs the result before replying, it should wait with one command that blocks until the command's output file shows what it needs. Otherwise the instructions keep the earlier text, which says the model will be notified when the command exits.

The stock Bash description captured under this release is unchanged from v2.1.312, so the new wording did not appear in that capture.

Why

This changes how Claude waits for background tasks.
