What

A WebSocket is a long-lived two-way connection between Claude Code and a server. The shared code that opens these connections can now pass a compression setting, so each connection can choose whether its messages are compressed. Before, it only passed headers, proxy and security settings.

Why

This could change how much data remote-session and similar connections send.
