What
A hook is a command you set up in your settings to run automatically at certain moments, such as before or after Claude uses a tool. Two small changes affect them:
Collected hooks: each hook Claude Code picks up for a moment is now added to a running record kept for the session.
Configured hooks: Claude Code can now check whether your settings define any hooks at all.
Why
How hooks run does not change. The record gives Claude Code a list of the hooks it has used, which can affect how hooks are shown or credited.
