What
Claude Code sometimes starts other programs, for example to run a shell command. When starting one fails and the error carries a shortened message, Claude Code now writes the error's original message to its log and its diagnostic data, instead of the message it used before. It also has fallback text for when the failure is not a proper error, which reads "the spawn threw a value that is not an Error".
Why
Only the logs and diagnostic data change. Nothing you see while working is different.
