What

MCP servers are outside programs that give Claude extra tools. Slack's MCP server, at https://mcp.slack.com, lets Claude post messages to Slack. Claude is now told that before posting a new message to a channel you did not name, it should read that channel's topic and description.

Why

This changes how Claude behaves when it posts to Slack. It is meant to make Claude check a channel's purpose before it posts there.
