An IDE is a code editor such as VS Code. /ide can now install the Claude Code extension in the IDE you choose. While it works it shows "Installing the Claude Code extension in …", and then reports one of these:

  • installed
  • failed
  • not installed, with the reason

If the extension is installed but Claude Code cannot find it running, it tells you to restart the IDE or reload its window (Developer: Reload Window) and then run /ide again.
