What
Claude Code now has a large table that sorts shell commands into kinds. Kinds include:
- running tests
- building
- linting (automated code style checks)
- installing packages
- serving or watching (long-running servers and file watchers)
- Python, Node and version control commands
It also recognises commands that start a background job, inline scripts run with python -c or bash -c, and find -exec.
Why
Claude Code can now tell what kind of work a shell command does.
