What

/teleport moves work between your computer and a cloud session, a copy of Claude Code running on Anthropic's servers. Before this change, moving a session to the cloud stopped with an error if you had uncommitted changes, untracked files or commits you had not pushed to git. Now Claude Code shows a notice listing what will stay on your computer, such as 'Anything you haven't pushed stays on this computer.', and asks you to confirm before it moves anything. If you do not confirm, nothing is moved.

It also handles more situations:

  • If the server reports that your current commit is not on the remote, or is out of date there, Claude Code falls back to the default branch or carries on as things are.
  • If it cannot confirm that the session's Remote Control connection and git branch are unchanged, nothing moves and you are asked to run /teleport again.
  • If there is nothing for the cloud to copy, it explains that moving needs a remote named origin, in a repository that is not your home folder.
Why

Having local work no longer blocks the move. Read the notice before confirming, because anything you have not pushed stays on your computer and will not be in the cloud session.
