What
Claude Code can look for a sign-in token in a file kept at a standard, well-known location. It now checks certain conditions first, and when they apply it does not read the file at all and behaves as though the file does not exist. Before, the file was always read.
Why
This tightens when Claude Code reads a file holding credentials. If you rely on that file for signing in, be aware that it may be ignored in some situations.
