What
When Claude Code reads file content through git, it now takes the output as raw bytes, checks them, and returns the content as UTF-8 text only if the check passes. Otherwise it returns nothing. Before, it returned the output as it came whenever git finished without an error.
Why
This avoids garbling file content that is not stored as UTF-8 text.
