What

A subagent is a helper Claude starts to work on a sub-task. When a subagent is resumed, Claude Code now records whether the main conversation is waiting on it.

Before, every resumed subagent was treated as a background agent, and its permission prompts were suppressed. Now a resumed subagent counts as background only when the main conversation is not waiting on it, and only then are its permission prompts suppressed.

Why

If Claude is waiting on a resumed subagent, you can now see and answer its permission requests instead of having them silently withheld.
