What
Managed settings are settings your organization's administrator sets for Claude Code. When Claude Code cannot load them because of a sign-in problem, it shows this message:
"Run claude auth login to re-authenticate, check your network connection, or contact your administrator."
The command named in that message is now inserted from a fixed value. Claude Code also checks another condition to decide which hint to show.
Why
The visible effect looks small. If you see this message, running claude auth login signs you in again, and checking your network or asking your administrator are the other options it lists.
