Claude Code can pick up a sign-in token from a file in a known location. It now does so only when the CLAUDE_CODE_REMOTE environment variable is set, and another check was added; otherwise it finds no token there. Before, a different check decided whether the file was read.
Why
Falling back to the token file is limited to remote sessions.
