What
Bun is a program that runs JavaScript, and it can download missing packages automatically when a script needs them. For plugins from the Anthropic Directory, Claude Code now sets BUN_OPTIONS to --install=disable, which turns that automatic download off.
If such a plugin sets its own BUN_OPTIONS, Claude Code replaces it and logs a message saying so.
Why
Directory plugins now have to ship everything they depend on. A plugin that relied on Bun fetching packages when it ran may fail until it bundles them.
