Unclear It is not clear which type of permission rule this applies to, possibly rules for web domains.
What
Permission rules decide which actions Claude Code may take without asking you. For one type of rule, matching now ignores whether letters are upper or lower case:
a rule with no * wildcard is compared in a normalized form that ignores case, drops a trailing part and compares dot-separated names
a rule with a * wildcard is compared after both sides are made lower case
The normalized comparison only handles plain ASCII characters.
Why
Rules of this type may now match inputs they missed before because of differences in case or formatting.
