What
A tool is an action Claude can take, such as reading a file or running a command, and what it sends back has a size limit. When images in that output don't fit, Claude Code now puts a note in their place. For one image it reads "[Image left out: it did not fit in the tool output limit]". For several it gives the number of images left out.
Why
You and Claude see a clear note saying images were left out, rather than an error, when a tool returns large images.
