Unclear It is not clear which feature uses the shorter path limit, so it is unknown which paths it can reject.

What
  • Path length: one check that Claude Code runs on file paths now accepts at most 1024 characters. The limit used to be 4096.
  • Plugin folder error: a plugin is an add-on that extends Claude Code, and the sandbox is the fenced-off area that limits what commands can touch. When the sandbox settings are not rebuilt for a plugin folder that joins the session, Claude Code now reports this through its standard error system. It previously printed a plain line of text.
  • --resume: the error shown when a session name matches more than one session is unchanged. It still lists the session IDs you can pass.
Why

A long absolute path that passed before may now be rejected by the shorter limit.
