Unclear Which display mode or setting makes the stash notice appear is not clear.
Stashing a prompt means setting aside the text you are typing so you can get it back later. Claude Code can now show a notice for 3 seconds after you stash, saying the prompt was stashed and which key restores it. The key shown comes from your chat:stash key binding. The notice appears only in some display conditions.
When you paste and there is no image to paste, the notice now also carries a short hint:
- no image in clipboard, in a normal terminal
- no image, try scp, when you are connected over SSH (a remote terminal connection, where your local clipboard is not available to the remote machine)
Both actions used to give little or no feedback in the terminal, so it was easy to lose track of a stashed prompt or to wonder why a paste did nothing.
