What
MCP servers are outside programs that give Claude Code extra tools. The --mcp-config flag loads them from JSON files or strings. How those servers are processed changed in several ways.
Processing now tracks servers kept even though an allowlist (a list of approved servers set by a policy) would otherwise drop them, in keptDespiteAllowlist.
Notes about those kept servers (keptNotes) are logged, and printed as warnings on self-hosted runner children. An extra warning from a new helper is also printed.
Servers configured on the fly are now built one server at a time.
Connection options (dialOptions) are now passed from connection setup into both the required and the normal --mcp-config connection paths.
Before this release, processing returned only the servers, the dropped ones and the reason they were dropped.
Why
The server allowlist now has a way to keep a server anyway, and when that happens you see a notice instead of it happening silently. The connection options change is internal plumbing with no visible effect described.
