What
At the start of a turn, Claude Code checks whether the plugins linked to your account are up to date. Plugins are add-ons that give Claude Code extra commands, agents or tools. Before this change, Claude Code always waited for that check, up to a time limit, before the turn went on.
Now, when the wait is skipped, Claude Code starts the check in the background and lets the turn continue. The result is saved and used on later turns. If the background check fails, Claude Code writes an error to its log.
Why
Turns are less likely to pause at the start while plugin syncing finishes.
