Unclear It is not clear which requests are affected, or whether compression is now actually on for them.
What
Claude Code can compress the data it sends with gzip, which makes requests smaller. A feature flag used to be able to switch this compression off for every kind of request. That flag now applies only to requests from remote workers. Other requests skip it and go straight to the next check, which can still turn compression off.
Why
Compression may now be used for some requests where the flag used to keep it off.
