What
Claude Code signs you in with a token that it renews from time to time. To renew it, it creates a lock file so two processes don't renew at once. In sessions that do not use disk storage, Claude Code now skips renewing the token and reports that it can't be refreshed. It does this before creating the lock, so no lock file is made.
Why
Sessions without disk storage no longer try to write lock files to renew sign-in tokens.
