What

Claude Code draws its interface in the terminal with a text component. That component has a new faintInk style for muted text.

  • faintInk is a new setting on the Text component. It applies when the text is inverse and active and the theme is not otherwise active.
  • The text styler shows text as dim when the faintInk style equals the color, no bold or dim is already set, and the color is in a known set. This looks like a fallback for terminals that show that color poorly.

Why

Some muted text in the terminal may look different, most likely dimmer, than before.
