Skills are sets of instructions Claude can use for particular tasks. MCP servers are outside programs that give Claude Code extra tools, and some also supply skills. The skillOverrides setting, which hides or collapses a skill without editing it, now works for skills from MCP servers too. They are matched by the skill's name and also by its alias names. When the setting is saved, entries under old alias names that no longer apply are removed.
Before, skillOverrides was only matched against a skill's bare name or the key used for synced skills.
Why
Skills from MCP servers can now be turned off or tidied away from the same skills settings as other skills.
