What
Two changes involve MCP tools, which are tools from outside programs connected to Claude Code:
When an MCP tool result has already been cut short, the copy Claude Code stores is trimmed again. It ends with a note giving how many more characters there were and saying they are "not kept on this copy of the result".
When a permission rule allows a call in auto mode, Claude Code records usage data with where the rule came from and how the server was classified.
Why
The recorded data shows how MCP allow rules interact with auto mode.
