A marketplace is a list of plugins (add-on packages for Claude Code) that you can install from. Claude Code now refuses to add a marketplace when its name:
contains anything other than letters, digits, ., _ and -
does not start with a letter or digit
The error says Claude Code cannot install plugins from a marketplace with this name and asks you to have the marketplace's maintainer change name in marketplace.json.
Why
You find out right away with a clear message, instead of ending up with a marketplace whose plugins can't be installed.
