What

Claude Code keeps a record of which files Claude has read. When you resume a session, it restores that record. Before, it only skipped files that were too large. Now it also skips:

  • anything that is not a regular file
  • files whose content is only blank space
  • files whose content no longer matches what Claude has in the conversation
Why

This makes it less likely that Claude acts as if it has read a file whose contents it no longer has right after you resume.
