What

In a diskless session, meaning a session that has no local disk to read from or write to, Claude Code now behaves differently in two places:

  • Memory files: the list of memory files in your home folder is not gathered, and nothing about them is sent.
  • Forked skills: when a skill runs as a separate copy of the session and tries to save a companion file, the save is refused with an error if there is no storage backend for it.
Why

This keeps hosted setups that have no disk from making file reads and writes nobody intended.
