Auto mode is a permission mode in which a classifier, an automatic checker, decides whether an action is safe instead of asking you. MCP servers are outside programs that give Claude Code extra tools, some of which change or delete things. When such a tool is allowed by an mcpServerPolicy rule, Claude Code now notes where that rule came from: a command-line argument or the current session. This is used to include those allowed write actions in what auto mode's classifier checks.
This applies only when CLAUDE_CODE_REMOTE is set and a remote switch is on. That switch is off unless it is switched on remotely. When last read, the flag server returned it on for this site's account.
In cloud and shared sessions, this changes which MCP actions that modify things the auto mode classifier gets to look at.
tengu_cowork_auto_mode_include_allowed_write_mcp Off by default, switched on for this accountThe shipped code defaults this off, and the flag server returned on for the one account this site reads on this version. That is the reading that makes the entry above worth a second look, and it still says nothing about your account.
