When Claude Code reads a PDF, it uses the tools pdfinfo (which counts pages) and pdftoppm (which turns pages into images). It now feeds them the contents of the file it already has open, instead of having them open the file path again.
Why
This closes a gap where the file could be swapped for a different one between Claude Code opening it and the tools reading it.
