What
The effort level sets how much effort the model puts into its answers. Claude Code reports it as information attached to the session (one Claude Code conversation). It used to report it every time. It now reports it only when no effort level is set or its text is within a length limit, and longer values are left out.
Why
This keeps oversized effort values out of the information recorded about a session.
