What

A proxy is a server that sits between Claude Code and the internet and can block requests. When a request is refused with HTTP status 403 (forbidden) and the response is plain text, Claude Code now labels it as a proxy denial, provided a further check on the stated reason passes.

Before, such a response got no label unless it was a content-scan block.

Why

Requests blocked by an outgoing proxy can now produce a clearer error that says the proxy refused them.
