What
Claude Code now reads a new switch named tengu_violin_overstand. Anthropic's server sets this kind of switch for each account. It is off unless the server turns it on. If the value comes from a local override instead of the server, Claude Code treats the switch as off. If reading the switch fails, Claude Code reports the error and treats it as off.
The flag server returned this switch off for this site's account and on for an anonymous baseline account. Those readings come from before this release.
Why
The switch can only be turned on from the server side. Setting it yourself has no effect.

Feature flag
tengu_violin_overstandOff by default, switched on for this account
The shipped code defaults this off, and the flag server returned on for the one account this site reads on this version. That is the reading that makes the entry above worth a second look, and it still says nothing about your account.
This account: on · anonymous baseline: on · compiled default in v2.1.288: off
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
Flag reading movedThe flag server now returns on for tengu_violin_overstand, read as this account.A reading is one sample. Claude Code evaluates its flags remotely, so no client sees the targeting rule behind a value and this says nothing about your account.
