What

Plugin hooks are scripts a plugin runs when certain things happen in Claude Code. Claude Code used to load plugins once and reuse the result. It now records the state each load happened under, and reads the hooks again when that state is different. Hook modules are also registered before Claude Code's first update cycle.

Why

This stops plugins from running on out-of-date information after that state changes.
