What
A skill is a packaged set of instructions Claude Code can load. When a skill is asked for by name, Claude Code now first narrows the candidates with a filter, then tries in this order:
The exact name
The name prefixed with the current agent's type
Any skill whose name ends in a colon followed by that name
The old rule that kept synced skills out of the last kind of match no longer appears in that form.
Why
This could change which skill is picked when more than one skill has a similar name.
