What

In a remote session, one driven over a network connection, Claude Code keeps a list of background tasks, meaning work that runs while the conversation carries on. When the connection drops and reconnects, that list is no longer cleared.

Claude Code also now reports a usage event listing the tracked tasks when it reconnects, and records when each permission request (a prompt asking you to allow an action) opens and closes.

Why

Background tasks now survive a reconnect instead of being lost from view.
