What
Remote sessions receive updates over a long-lived connection. When opening that connection hung without a response, Claude Code previously waited indefinitely, and it only retried if the attempt failed with an error. It now sets a time limit on opening the connection. If no response arrives in time, it gives up on that attempt, logs that there was no response within the limit, and reconnects.
The time limit can come from a configuration value, sse_connect_timeout_ms, and is capped.
Why
A remote session can now recover from a stalled connection by itself rather than appearing stuck.
