What

A monitor is a background task that keeps watch on something and tells Claude when there is news. When a monitor stops, the notification it sends can now use a different end status and summary. If none is given, it still reports "stopped" with its usual summary, as before.

Why

Monitors can now end with a status that says more than stopped.
