What

Claude Code keeps a short summary of your git repository's current state so it can tell when it changes. When HEAD (git's pointer to what you have checked out) does not point at a regular branch, the summary now uses logs/HEAD, git's record of where HEAD has pointed. If that file cannot be read as expected, the check gives up.

Why

This affects how Claude Code notices changes in your git state when you are not on a normal branch.
