What

When Claude Code checks for the Claude desktop app, the result used to include only a status and a version. It now also includes the URL scheme, which is the link prefix used to open the app. If that scheme is claude-dev, Claude Code treats the app as ready without checking its version.

Why

A development build of the desktop app is accepted without failing a version check.
