What
When Claude Code creates a cloud session, which is a session that runs on Anthropic's servers rather than on your machine, the request changes in three ways:
- It now includes a no-monorepo option. A monorepo is a single repository that holds many projects.
- It also includes a field for extra system prompt text, which is currently sent empty.
- The effort level comes from the effort you chose when you set one, and from the session's starting effort otherwise. It no longer depends on whether your settings are being forwarded.
Tools that your machine runs on behalf of a cloud session also gain a check that fetches the session again to confirm your device is still linked to it.
Why
The device check makes tool runs stop once your machine is no longer linked to the session.
