What

Claude Code can automatically move a command into the background, so it keeps running while other work goes on. The check that decides this has changed. It still looks at CLAUDE_AUTO_BACKGROUND_TASKS, an environment variable you can set. Two of its other conditions were removed, and its test for whether Claude Code runs without its interactive screen now goes through a separate check.

Why

This may change when runs without the interactive screen send commands to the background.
